Source of inspiration
Photograph by Yvan Boulay and my own, taken during my morning walks...
This house at the entrance to the Cité de Saint-Hyacinthe is the first
on the left after the Gate of the Former Mayors, at the bend in the river
and it brings back fond memories of my adolescence
when my friend Jacques, a former schoolmate from the Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe,
lived there, and where we often gathered in the basement for recordings or
for a memorable youth party with our friends of that time.
This painting was acquired by one of my collectors during my Open House on September 11, 2025...
One of four paintings acquired that same evening by this collector.
Story
This painting is an example of my style with its recurring elements
including my stylized sky with broad brushstrokes and swirls
An oversized tree with exuberant vegetation that acts as
a theatre curtain to present and greet my heritage house
a painting that I want to be narrative, full of anecdotes, with nostalgic blues
evoking memorable memories.
with bright and contrasting colours.
